The journalism staff Christmas progressive dinner was so much fun! Such great memories were made last night. I spent the night at Caroline's after the dinner and we stayed up talking, which is always nice. We went to see The Nutcracker today, like we do every year, and it was so beautiful. Then we went to dinner and a book store, and now I'm home! I am exhausted, but it has been a good weekend.

Thank God winter break starts today because I do not think I'd be able to stand another day of school. I spent practically my entire day working on yearbook shit, freaking and stressing out. The "A" celebration was lame, but I had fun hanging out with my friends. My feet are killing me because I had to run around school all day in heels. I just don't fell well at all, I want to sleep for like, four days. Well, at least until tomorrow afternoon. I AM SO DRAINED.

I have so much work to do over break, it's insane. I guess I'm not going to get too much relaxation.

Mr. Harper talked me into reading a poem at Open Mic Night tomorrow (well, he bribed me with extra credit points). He has also assigned quite a lot of work lately. That man will be the death of me.
He wanted me to read something of my own (he suggested my novella that I'm writing in class) but I refused, so I chose "'Hope' is the Thing with Feathers" by Emily Dickinson. I'm not really looking forward to this.

Wade and I got part of our big Christmas present early! If I weren't going to be out all day, I would spend my day playing with our Wii. :)
We don't get Wii Fit or Wii Music (both my request) until Christmas, but hey, this little contraption is fun as hell. I'm glad we got it early (I already knew we were getting it). Woo hoo!

I love all types of surroundings, but I would have to say the ocean. I love the mountains, and I would definitely take trips to visit those areas often, but I'm an ocean girl at heart. I love the snow, and unfortunately rarely get to see it, but I just completely love spending time on the shore. There's something just so magical about the beach, especially at night.

So, my weekend was a variety of things.

Saturday, all I did was work. I finished up my work for my online P.E. class, and took the final exam. I'm so glad that's all over with. I also got a bunch of work done for my Driver's Ed class so I don't have to worry too much about it this week. I decorated my room for Christmas, and helped my grandparents decorate their house. I did some homework, and basically just worked my tail off. Today, however, I hung out with Cason. I love that girl to death. We went to Ocala and just kind of shopped around, and it was fun. We don't spend a whole lot of time together anymore, but the time we do spend together is always nice.

Now, I'm home and ready to do a hell of a lot of homework because Harper is just so damn demanding. Oh, and I also have to deal with my failing relationship(s). Christmas break, please hurry up and get here. I need time to figure my life out.

I always complain about living in Florida. One of the biggest reasons is because of the lack of seasons. So, I just looked out my window, and my neighbor's tree, with orange, red, and yellow leaves, was blowing in the wind. The leaves were falling from the tree and covering their yard with a blanket of beautiful colors. I don't know, for some reason that was important to me.
Ms. Bennett's birthday is today, and my class decided that we were going to bake cookies for her (well, actually, I did it). Everyone signed a card for her and it was just so fun. I love the journalism staff. Well, most of the members, anyway.

I went to Big Brothers Big Sisters after school for the first time in about a month. There was this cute little girl in my "little sister's" class named Christia, who seemed wise beyond her years. She asked me questions about why I was in the classroom and what it was like when I went to Inverness Primary. She told me about the class, and what she was helping her friend, Eve, do (she was helping her learn English - Eve only speaks Chinese). Christia was just so kind and intelligent for a fifth grader, and I really like her. Now, my "little sister" on the other hand...

I have yoga class with Marshall tonight, which we haven't been to in a while. That'll be nice; I need some relaxation. Also, tomorrow is the field trip to UCF. Waking up extra early is never favorable, but I have a feeling it will be a great trip. I missed the field trip to USF, but I had already been to their campus, so it wasn't too much of a let down. I'm excited. The only downside is that I may not get to go to the end of the season pizza party for Academic Team, if it's tomorrow, which I'm not sure of. Oh well.

Oh, Mr. Harper's teaching methods (or lack there of) piss me off sometimes. He decided he was sick of the Gregory Maguire (we had three groups each reading a different novel by him) unit and has decided to just stop reading those books and move into The Stand. As much as I'm looking forward to reading The Stand, my group was reading Wicked, which I was thoroughly enjoying. I'm determined to finish the novel by the time he collects the G.M. books later this week. I love that man to death, but he frustrates the hell out of me sometimes.

Overall, things aren't too bad. I can't complain too much (except about the fact that thedailyplate.com isn't working... ).

I had a nice Thanksgiving. It was different though. The tradition is to go to my Aunt Dorothy's house, with a bunch of other family, but Aunt Dorothy passed away recently, so we had Thanksgiving at my house with just my grandparents. It was nice, nonetheless, just out of the ordinary. I have a lot to be thankful for and I should remember that more often. I'll try to work on that.

My favorite time of year has officially arrived! I woke up to the sound of my mother putting up Christmas decorations in the dining room and listening to Christmas music. From now until about the second of January, my life will be extra special. I just love the wintery season. I'm so excited!

Oh, and I must wish a very happy birthday to one of my best friends, Chloe. Even though she's never going to read this, I want to have a dedication to her. Although we bicker sometimes, I love her dearly. She's like a sister to me, almost like a little sister because I feel a need to protect her. Happy birthday, Chloe, and I hope that you always feel like the beautiful, confident, smart, fabulous girl that you are!

Ah, today was a good day. It was my first full day back since being sick, and it was nice.

I got a 112% on my Spanish test! How in the world I pulled that off when I wasn't there for the majority of the lesson, I have no clue.

Journalism is just amazing. They are my favorites. Gosh, we have so much fun, especially on days like today!

We had a substitute again in Mr. Harper's class. I miss that man! We watched some very strange movie that only he would leave for us to watch.

English was very interesting because we had a class discussion about our childhoods. I think it's so great to see a new side of people I'm with every day, to learn things I never knew about them, about where they came from. I just found it all so fascinating.

Cheers to an entire week off school!

I have been avoiding doing my oral exams for both of my online courses, but today I could avoid it no longer. My driver's ed instructor called me and I had planned to cheat by using the lessons online, but my mom had just shut the computer down. I was so nervous and I was stammering and turning bright red. The first couple of questions were easy, but then she started asking me hard stuff. I BSed my way through it, at one point even murmuring on purpose because I didn't know the exact word, and guess what? I got a 100% on it. I am one lucky duck, I tell you.

I had a very fun time with Caroline! We gave out candy at my grandparents last night, and then came back to my house for the night. Today, we went to see The Haunting of Molly Hartley. I love spending time with my bestie!

Oh, I have so much to do this weekend.

All A's on my report card, 4.25 weighted GPA. I'm all right.

I had so much to do today. I was constantly working on something during journalism, which rarely happens. In fact, I have a half an hour late to Harper's class, and now he's angry with Ms. Bennett. Great. His class just stresses me out.

The pep rally was fun.

Tonight is going to be fantastic!

I am slacking! I have a journal due in Harper's class tomorrow on the second section of Wicked, and I still have about sixty pages to read before even thinking about what to write in the journal entry. Ay yi yi.

Tomorrow we have our report cards handed out and I am one nervous girl.

Hypocrisy astounds me.
